Theresa Bramblett was born in Miami. In the Storm Series, she seeks to present the contrasts she saw in her own life during the traumatic period after Hurricane Andrew. She is interested in presenting a distillation of that juxtaposition of beauty and chaos, stillness and devastation with which survivors of natural disasters are all too familiar. Many of her pieces also incorporate destroyed man-made objects (some of which are pulled directly from actual storm debris) and use them as surfaces upon which these scenes of natural beauty are laid bare.
In our current experience of increasing climatic instability, these scenes are unfortunately becoming all the more relevant for residents of her home state and, indeed, the entire world.
Bramblett's work has been exhibited in Miami, Orlando, Chicago, and Oak Park.
She currently resides and works in Florida with her pets.
